Lahaina is the old whaling village and the largest town in West Maui with boundaries stretching along the coast to include Kapalua and Kaanapali Resorts. The wife and I are looking to go to Maui for 7 days in April and are confused on where to stay. We love beaches so want to stay close to some nice quiet secluded beaches with easy snorkeling. I’ve heard the entire west coast is really nice from napili bay down to Makena beach.I went to Maui for 10 days back in October and stayed at Lahaina Shores Beach Resort. I used credit card points to stay there, since it was the only category 4 Hyatt on the island.
