There are a few factory optioned S10s and Blazers out there that came with the 8.5 ring gear vs the typical 7.5 but they are rare enough that they are pretty pricey for a rear end that still needs work.
Mar 21, 2018 · Hey guys I'm currently starting a v8 swap on my 94 s10 ss and I've been wondering if or what is needed out of the harness that comes out of the passenger side by the fender. It's going to be a carbed 350 so I know i don't need anything for the fuel injection. Also anyone have an easy way or option to use the dash with a carbed swap and th350 swap?

"Easiest" V8 swap (350 sbc) would most likely be a carb'd set up on a mechanical fuel pump block. 2nd easiest would be an electrical fuel pump meant for a carb (low psi). Everything is fairly straight-forward to get running. Physically getting a 350 engine into an S10 chassis may be the simplest part of the entire swap. If you've got a 4.3-liter truck, a 350 and TH350 will almost bolt right in; you may have to modify or replace the transmission crossmember, but otherwise, it's almost a straight swap.
