During my Lost Island playthrough, some metal nodes respawned after ~40 hrs and after I farmed them again they didn't respawn till the end, so more than 100 hrs of waiting time. There is plenty of maps and guides out there for ark stop being lazy and coming to reddit. There is no metal node on long island. Closest metal mine is on the mountain east of you, but it's dangerous way to go there and back.
