My tr5actor has been running like crap lately, and after checking everything else, I pulled the dist cap, at which time the rotor fell out in three different peices. It was barley running before this happened. Your 2000 firing order is 1243 clockwise with about 7:00 being position for #1 nipple on dist. cap. If this sputters or backfires, make 1:00 position for #1. Then set timing with timing light if possible., It is the forward most spark plug closest to the radiator. Next check the distributor rotor button, it should be aligned to fire #1 spark plug. That should be the plug wire to #1 spark plug. Now conect the remaining plugs to fire in the order 1-2-4-3.
