Honestly, mage isn't great in f7 (especially as cata 30) w/o hyperion. I played bers until about cata 32 then switched to mage when I could afford a hyperion. I assume you're having trouble finding decent parties as a mage w/o hyperion whereas archer with bones (or even melee tank/bers/healer) might still get you into parties.This reply is a great start, but you will absolutely never be able to find a F7 party without a Hyperion Mage. Many say that it’s not necessary to have a Hyperion, but it’s become the golden standard nowadays. As far as for F6, namlaE is probably off to a great start. Spirit scepter for the cheapest option, if you could afford it and use it as a dungeon item, use a Midas staff or yeti sword., Full storm is ass, since f7 is more about survivability. 3/4 storm with either necromancer or t12 chest should do the job,also this should be obvious but use a blue whale, also don't forget to lifesteal every single time since you can't tell when you will be 1 tapped ever.
